17 August (Thurs)–warning: dead dog.

On the walk up to Jeremy’s school, we notice new progress begin made on the wall by the college temple.

We also see a boy in class 5 or class 6 dragging the stiffened body of a dead dog off the road. He has taken a plasticky burlap bag to cover the dog so he is not touching the body directly; he pulls the corpse by the tail. I am impressed by the boy’s willingness to take on this unpleasant task. What killed the dog?

I suspect a human-animal conflict rather than a dog-vehicle encounter, but I have no real data. I suppose it could have been dog-on-dog conflict as well: increasingly, we hear snarls and yipping from dog battles in the night.
